MAGNOLIA, Ark. -- The LeTourneau women's cross country team competed in its second meet of the season and finished fifth at the Lois Davis Invitational, hosted by Southern Arkansas, on Friday night.

LeTourneau placed fifth, ahead of Grambling and Wiley, in the nine-team field and all seven YellowJacket runners set personal records. Ouachita Baptist took the team title with 22 points.

Sophie Pyle led the way for LeTourneau with a 17th-place finish and a season-best 5k time. The newcomer finished in 20:57.1 and earned her first top-20 placement of the season.

Peyton Chaney also had a personal record time in the 5k as she finished 30th overall and with a mark of 21:41.7. In her second collegiate race, Breeanna Hoffman had a season-best 5k time of 22:42.3 to finish 41st.

Tatum Kratky was one spot behind Hoffman as she finished 42nd with her season-best mark of 22:42.6. Rivkah Schmickle rounded out the top five finishers for the YellowJackets and also achieved a personal record time at 22:48.2.

Klaire Belzung added her season-best time of 26:46.9 and Corrina Mendoza achieved her best mark of 28:23.2.

Henderson State's Alexandra Montgomery took the individual title with her time of 18:27.1.

UP NEXT

LeTourneau returns to the course on Oct. 3 at the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
