TYLER, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's cross country team opened the 2026 campaign Saturday morning at the UT Tyler Invitational.

The YellowJackets placed fifth out of seven teams, with four of the team's seven runners competing in their first collegiate race.

UT Tyler captured the team title with four top-10 finishers, and Weatherford's Maureen Kisiang'ani took home the individual title in the 5k race.

Sophie Pyle, a junior transfer competing in her first race with LeTourneau, led the pack with a time of 22:14. Pyle placed 26th in her team debut.

Just three spots behind Pyle came Peyton Chaney, clocking a 22:46.9. Tatum Kratky, in her collegiate debut, was the third YellowJacket to cross the finish line, running a 23:27.

Breeanna Hoffman also finished her first collegiate race, clocking a 23:28.1. Rivkah Schmickle rounds out LeTourneau's scoring runners, posting a 23:45.5 in her first race back from injury.

Klaire Belzung (27:09.8) and Corrina Mendoza (29:48.4) round out LeTourneau's competitors.

LeTourneau will compete in Southern Arkansas' Lois Davis Invitational on Friday, Sep. 18.
