SUWANEE, Ga. -- LeTourneau men's golf freshman Landon Druyvesteyn was named the SCAC Golfer of the Week, announced the conference on Wednesday.

Druyvesteyn earns his first career conference weekly award and becomes the second YellowJacket in as many weeks to collect the honor (Brody Holmlund, Sept. 16).

A freshman from Keller, Texas, Druyvesteyn paced the No. 13-ranked YellowJackets to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Preview at the par-71 Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. Druyvesteyn finished tied for 28th with a three-round total of 1-over, 214, highlighted by a season-best round in the second round of 4-under, 67. His second-round score was tied for the 11th lowest round over the course of the three-day event among 95 golfers. He finished the tournament second in par-3 scoring with a 2.83 scoring average, finished tied for 13th with 11 birdies, and carded 34 pars.

After two tournaments to open the season, Druyvesteyn leads the team in scoring average at 72.17.

LeTourneau is back in action on Sept. 28-29 with golfers competing in the Jacksonville College Invitational at Cherokee Ranch Golf Club.
