Women's Soccer Shatters Record Books on Senior Night

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's soccer routed the Central Baptist Mustangs, 7-0, on Senior Night at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.

Four seniors -- Chanel Kemball-Cook, Natalie Alvarado, Allison McClanahan, and Kyleigh Chavez -- scored in a dominating win over Central Baptist (0-4) on Friday night.

After dropping the season opener, LeTourneau (6-1) set a program record with its sixth consecutive victory. 

McClanahan was the first to stake her claim on her senior night, netting her first career goal in the 21st minute.

Kemball-Cook drove through the left side of the box, putting a cross right on the money for an easy tap-in for McClanahan. 

Just seven minutes later, Sierra Kemball-Cook was found by her sister Chanel on a give-and-go to put the YellowJackets up 2-0. 

The Mustangs held off several other attacks in the first half and kept the score tied through most of the second.

It was Sarah Wyatt netting her first goal of the season to extend the lead (77') to 3-0, with the assist coming from Alvarado.

With less than seven minutes remaining, Chanel Kemball-Cook was in danger of losing her five-match scoring streak.

The streak did not end.

Across the final 6:47, Kemball-Cook scored a career-high four goals, setting a slew of historical marks in the process.

The senior not only tied the program record with her sixth straight match with a goal, but set the program record for the quickest consecutive goals scored at 42 seconds, scoring at the 86:05 and 86:47 marks.

Additionally, with 37 career goals, Kemball-Cook is now third in program history in goals scored, and records just the fourth instance in which a YellowJacket has scored four goals in a match.

UP NEXT

With non-conference play concluded, LeTourneau opens SCAC play in Seguin on Friday, Oct. 3, against Texas Lutheran (7:30 p.m.).
