TYLER, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's cross country team worked a third-place finish at the season-opening UT Tyler Invitational on Saturday morning.
The 8k was the first of four regular-season races for the YellowJackets.
UT Tyler's Dylan Navarrete led the field as the Patriots took home the team title.
Grayson Gaddis led the charge for LeTourneau, finishing 14th with a time of 27:40.4. Gaddis was followed by
Mikey McCart, who, in his first collegiate race, ran a 27:57.9 and finished 20th.
Ryan Tally (29:20.1) and
Alexander Hoksbergen (29:38.9) brought home points for the YellowJackets, and
Sam Trosen rounded out LeTourneau's point scorers, running a 29:39.3 in his collegiate debut.
Also making their collegiate debuts were
Ethan Hoglund (29:42.4) and
Michael Wallens III (31:51.4).
