MARSHALL, Texas – LeTourneau men's soccer battled East Texas Baptist into the 105th minute tied 1-1, but the YellowJackets fell just short when ETBU's Peter Fitzsimmons scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime to give the Tigers a 2-1 victory Saturday night.

The game was scoreless for the first 83 minutes, but in the 84th minute LeTourneau's Hunter Hembrough was awarded a penalty kick opportunity. Hembrough buried it into the net to give the YellowJackets a 1-0 advantage with less than seven minutes to play.

In the 88th minute, East Texas Baptist's Christian Garcia scored unassisted to knot the game at 1-1, and the game would go into overtime.

After neither team scored in the first overtime, Fitzsimmons scored the deciding goal on an assist from Juan Ramirez in the 105th minute.

East Texas Baptist finished the game with nine shots on goal, while LeTourneau had five. Mario Lopez and Josh Bishop had two shots on goal apiece for the YellowJackets. Anthony Martinez went the distance for LETU, playing 110 minutes in goal with seven saves and only two goals allowed.

LeTourneau will return to the field Monday at 8 p.m., when the YellowJackets welcome Wiley College to LETU Soccer Field.
