The friendly confines of the LeTourneau soccer field propelled the men's soccer team to a 3-0 win in non-conference action over Hendrix on Tuesday night.

LeTourneau (3-8-1) has won both of its home contests in 2013, got on the board in the closing minutes of the first half when senior Edwin Raudales scored after a pass from graduate Patrick Tchekane in the 42nd minute. The goal sparked the YellowJacket attack going into the second half.

"We started off strong and when we got on the scoreboard, it gave us a boost of energy," said freshman Adam Schultz. The rookie from Plano had a hand in the two goals of the final 45 minutes. He added an unassisted goal in the 47th minute and found Mario Lopez in the 63rd minute for the final tally of the night.

Hendrix (4-5-2) had 13 shots in the loss on LETU goalkeeper Patrick Barba III (pictured), who recorded his first career shutout. The sophomore from McKinney made seven saves between the posts. It is the first LeTourneau shutout since they blanked Texas Lutheran in the 2012.

LeTourneau will continue its five-match homestand when they host American Southwest Conference members, University of Texas-Dallas on Friday (Oct. 11) at 6 p.m. and University of Ozarks on Saturday (Oct. 12) at 6 p.m.
