LETU Men's Soccer Ends Season with 1-0 Loss to UT Tyler

Leandro Fernandez scored off a deflection to lead UT Tyler to a 1-0 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday evening in Longview.

UT Tyler (8-4-4, 4-3-2 ASC) had three shots that were saved by LETU sophomore goalkeeper Miguel Cabrera and Fernandez had a shot that hit the cross bar in the 29th minute before scoring off the defelection in the 38th minute.
 
LeTourneau (4-11-2, 2-5-2 ASC) was limited to seven shots and Cabrera had five saves in the loss. LETU nearly got on the board in the 26th minute on a diving header by sophomore Adam Schultz that sailed high. Looking to equalize, senior Danny Canaviri had a header attempt that was tipped over the goal by Patriots' goalkeeper John McGuffin, who finished the contest with five saves for the shutout.
 
The contest ends the 2014 season for LeTourneau. Prior to the contest, LETU recognized – seniors Danny Canaviri, Carlos Guevara, Joe Myers and Nick Novak – for their contributions to the program, both on and off the field.
