Ashley Reed (10 points) were not enough as the LeTourneau University women's basketball team dropped a 75-63 decision to the University of the Ozarks on Friday afternoon in Longview.

The YellowJackets (3-4, 1-3 ASC) rallied from a 20-point, 49-29, halftime deficit to cut the deficit to as little as six with 1:14 to play. LeTourneau started the second half on a 12-3 run to trim the Ozarks lead to 52-41 with 15:49 to go. In the run, four-different YellowJackets scored including 3 pointers by
Ashley Stephens and
Ashley Reed.
Ozarks (6-4, 3-3 ASC) picked up a bulk of its scoring from three players, too. Taylor Farmer (26 points), Bryanna Moltz (13 points) and Jordana Andrews (12 points) accounted for 61 of the 75 for the visitors and 20 of 29 field goals. The Eagles scored six of the final eight points in the game for the win.

The LeTourneau defense in the second half held Ozarks to just 29.6% shooting and the YellowJackets outscored the Eagles, 20-14 in points in the paint, 11-5 on second-chance points and 7-0 in points off turnovers. Trailing by six, 67-61, Farmer scored the next four points to stretch the Ozarks lead to double digits for the remainder of the contest.

The YellowJackets will be idle for the Christmas Break before returning to action in the UT Tyler Christmas Classic on December 30-31. First, they will face Schreiner on December 30 at noon, followed by a contest against Texas Lutheran on December 31 at noon.
