Louisiana College led nearly from start-to-finish in the inaugural game en route to an 85-56 win over the LeTourneau University women's basketball team at the renovated H.O. West Fieldhouse.

When Skylar Chenevert of LC hit a 3 pointer with 1:17 into the contest, it gave the host Wildcats a lead for the rest of the contest. LC led for 39:13 in the win to improve to 11-4 overall and 8-4 in the American Southwest Conference. The 3 pointer sparked an early 10-2 spurt for the host Wildcats.
The YellowJackets, who fall to 4-13 overall and 2-10 in the ASC, were led by the third double double of the season by junior
Ashley Stephens. The Houston native had 10 points and 14 rebounds in the loss, she was joined in double figures by senior
Rebecca Stewart, who had a team-high 13. Off the bench,
Te'Andra Richardson added seven points and six rebounds for the YellowJackets.

The Wildcats picked up 13 points from LaToya Evans and she was joined in double figures by Neka Jones and Kaci Willis, who had 12 and 10 points, respectively. Danisha Allison added nine points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots for Louisiana College. For the game, LC outscored LETU, 44-20 on bench scoring and 26-13 in points off turnovers.

Louisiana College built a 28-point halftime lead, 52-24, when they shot 50% from the field (17-of-34) and 92.9% from the free-throw line (13-for-14). Back to back baskets by Stephens to start the second half for LeTourneau cut the deficit to 24 for the YellowJackets. The Wildcats allowed LETU to draw no closer despite being held LC to 31.4% shooting (11-for-35).

Next up for LeTourneau is a contest against No. 12 UT Tyler at the Herrington Patriot Center in Tyler on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m.
