A goal in each half led the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday in Clarksville, Arkansas.
The YellowJackets (2-7-1, 0-3 ASC) had a 9-6 advantage in shots in the defeat. Junior
Antonio Fernandez accounted for four of the nine shots for LETU. YellowJackets' goalkeeper
Miguel Cabrera had a pair of saves in 90 minutes of action.
Ozarks (5-3-2, 2-1 ASC) scored on its first shot of the game when Matt Weaver found the back of the next in the 7
th minute. They picked up their other goal, 42 seconds into the second half, when Bryce Young scored after beating the LETU defense.
Late in the game, LETU had opportunities against the Ozarks defense and goalkeeper Austin Benner scooped up three of his five saves in the final eight minutes to preserve his shutout.
Next, LETU will return home to host Louisiana College (Fri., Oct. 9 at 3 p.m) and Belhaven University (Sat., Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.)
