A pair of first half goals led visiting LeTourneau University men's soccer to a 2-1 win over host McMurry on Friday in Abilene.
The YellowJackets (5-9-2) got on the board nearly two minutes into the contest when sophomore
Aaron Hastings (pictured) scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season. The LETU offense continued to put pressure on the McMurry defense for the remainder of the half. In the 30

Antonio Fernandez added to the lead with a 40-yard shot to the far right post to put the YellowJackets ahead 2-0. Fernandez nearly added his second goal of the half when his attempt in the 41
st minute was blocked by the Warhawks' defense.
The Warhawks (1-14-1) spoiled the shutout bid for the YellowJackets in the 65
th minute on a Kyle Riese goal. McMurry goalkeeper Austin Long had four saves in 90 minutes of action.
The offense for the YellowJackets attempted to add to its lead with a shot by Hastings and sophomore

Miguel Cabrera had a pair of saves for his fifth win. The last LETU goalkeeper with five wins in a season was Kyle Davis in 2011.
Next on the schedule for LETU is a matchup against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. On Friday, HSU defeated East Texas Baptist, 1-0.
