Hardin-Simmons University snapped a four-game losing skid with an 84-58 win over the LeTourneau University men's basketball team on Senior Day in Longview.

The Cowboys (17-6, 13-5 ASC) led from start to finish in the win. Five Cowboys scored in double digits including
Justin Jones (17 points), Derrick Jefferson (13 points), Charles Sims (12 points), Christian O'Neal (11 points) and Nate Lewis (11 points) for HSU.
The YellowJackets were led by the 13-point efforts by senior
Aaron Frizell and freshman
Kelby Schimming. All 13 for Frizell came in the second half and Schimming scored 11 of his 13 in the final 20 minutes.
"We didn't get the job done on the court making shots and finishing at both ends," said LETU head men's basketball coach
Dan Miller.

Josh Thornton were recognized in pre-game ceremonies for their contributions to the program, on and off the court. Thornton finished his final home game with a solid all-around game with eight points, five rebounds and three assists. Â "However, I am extremely proud of Aaron and Josh. They battle hard every day and lead by example," said Miller.

Hardin-Simmons started the game on a 9-0 run until back-to-back baskets by LETU cut the deficit to five with 14:20 to play. The Cowboys retaliated and went into the halftime break with a 22-point lead. The Cowboys shot 43.8% (14-for-32) in the first half and they limited LETU to 25% (7-for-28) shooting. LETU would be able to cut the deficit to 22 on a pair of occasions in the second half. Hardin-Simmons remained hot from the floor, shooting 51.5% (17-for-33) from the field.
