Ashley Reed propelled the LeTourneau University women's basketball team to a 60-57 win over Sul Ross State on Thursday night in Alpine.

The YellowJackets (8-16, 6-13 ASC) got the game-winning shot from the Cedar Park native after an offensive foul was called on the Lobos. With 21 seconds left in the game, the LeTourneau worked the ball around the perimeter and senior guard
Rebecca Stewart saw an open Reed for the game-winning shot.

Stewart finished the contest with a team-high 13 points and eight rebounds in the win. It was the ninth time on the season that the Stafford has led LETU in scoring and her 16
th time in double digits for the season. Stewart also matched a season-high with five steals and a pair of assists in the win. She was joined in double digits by Reed and junior
Ashley Stephens, who each added 10 in the win. The LETU bench outscored Sul Ross State by a convincing, 20-0 margin and outscored SRSU, 24-10 on points off turnovers.

The Lobos (4-20, 3-16 ASC) were led by Ivette Trujillo, who had a game-high 26 points in the win. She was joined in double figures by Ashley Ousley, who had 10 in the loss.

"We had to battle through a lot of obstacles in this game to come out with the win," said LETU head coach
Leslie Reinecker. "We must give credit to Sul Ross State for the intensity they showed throughout the contest."

It was a tight contest all the way through with neither team being able to pull away with the game tied 10 times and lead changed four times. LeTourneau held a game-high, seven-point lead, 55-48 when junior
Jada Roberts hit a 3-pointer with 5:29 to play. The Lobos rallied and scored the next seven points to tie the game at 55 with 2:08 to play. The two teams traded baskets to set the stage for the game-winning basket by Reed, who had missed a 3 pointer attempt with :32 left to play.

"It was not a pretty game for us, but our players stepped up at the end and made the play to win the game. That was a big step for us to recognize the situation and execute despite what was going on around us," said Reinecker.
