The LeTourneau University volleyball team dropped a 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 decision to UT Tyler to begin American Southwest Conference play on Wednesday night.
The YellowJackets (2-8, 0-1 ASC) were led by a six kill, four block effort by sophomore
A.J. Campbell. Senior
Kayla Ronda and junior
Jenny Olejar added seven and six kills, respectively. Sophomore
Nicole Mosley and freshman
Bri Smith had 15 and seven assists, respectively. Senior
Alli Bordelon had 14 digs in the loss for LeTourneau.
The Patriots (7-3, 1-0 ASC) were led by the double double performance by Courtney Criswell, who had 16 kills and 11 digs. Rebecca Floyd and Shelby Estes had 25 and 15 assists, respectively. Shabronda Pox joined Bordelon with match-high honors with 14 digs. UT Tyler managed to out hit LeTourneau, .259 to .060 in the win.
Next, LeTourneau will host Belhaven on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Solheim Arena.
