No. 13 Comets Take Series Opener 8-0 over YellowJackets

LeTourneau couldn't jumpstart the offense in an 8-0 loss to No. 13 ranked UT Dallas on Friday afternoon in Richardson.
 
The YellowJackets (6-12, 0-7 ASC) had opportunities early in the game with runners in scoring position but weren't able to take advantage at the plate.
 
Gonzalo Sosa was the lone YellowJacket with multiple hits as he went 2-for-3 and drew a walk in his appearances at the plate. Sosa also stole two bases for LETU.
 
Noah Mahoney, Ryan Conger, and Haden Simmons were the other YellowJackets to record hits in the loss.
 
UTD pitcher, Jamie Andriot struck out 11 in his seven-inning effort. He moves to 5-0 on the season after giving up four YellowJacket hits but no runs.
 
YellowJacket slinger Jordan Carns struck out four and forced six groundouts in his five-inning appearance. Carns falls to 1-5 on the season after giving up seven earned runs on seven hits.
 
LeTourneau will look to even the series on Saturday as they will play a doubleheader against the Comets with the first game starting at 12 p.m. and second game to follow. The YellowJackets are still searching for their first conference win of the season.
