LONGVIEW, Texas – Kianna Crowe and Samantha Winkel registered double doubles, but it wasn't enough for LeTourneau in a loss against UT Dallas Saturday at Solheim Center.

Entering the day, the Comets held a half game lead over the Yellowjackets for second in the American Southwest Conference standings. With the 3-1 defeat, LeTourneau is 13-7 overall and 8-5 in league play, tied for third with Sul Ross State. UT Dallas improved to 11-8, 9-3, holding a two-game lead for second with six matches remaining.

The Yellowjackets came out on fire, grabbing the 1-0 advantage behind strong offense and stifling defense. They hit .303, recording 11 kills to just one attack error, while the Comets went .000 with nine winners and nine miscues.

Set two was a 25-21 victory for UT Dallas, hitting .143 with 11 winners and five mistakes in 42 attempts. LeTourneau wasn't as sharp, making five attack errors in 42 kills, with nine kills.

The Comets secured the season sweep with similar results in each of the final two sets, doing enough on offense to keep an edge over the struggling 'Jackets attack.

LeTourneau's final road trip of the campaign is a trip to Austin for a matchup with Concordia Friday at 6 p.m. The Yellowjackets take on Mary Hardin-Baylor, the league's top team at 2 p.m. Saturday.
