BROWNWOOD, Texas – Less than 24 hours after a crucial loss, the LETU men's soccer team rebounded with a 1-0 triumph over Howard Payne at Citizens National Bank Field Saturday.
With the win, the Yellowjackets evened their season mark at 8-8-0, including 4-5-0 in the American Southwest Conference. Howard Payne dropped to 3-12-1, 1-8-0.
The lone marker in the contest came in the 12th minute when
Russell Gray beat HPU's goalkeeper.
Oliver Placencia delivered a pass to Gray at the top of the penalty area. Gray's low smash unleashed a low drive slipped between the keeper and the near post.
Kolton Johnson started in goal for LETU, stopping all six shots on net to preserve the clean sheet.

The Yellowjackets hosts East Texas Baptist Friday, Oct. 29 at the Joyce Family Athletic Village in the regular-season finale for both sides. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Between the women's fixture that begins at 5 p.m. and the men's contest, a ceremony will be held, recognizing the contributions to the team, LeTourneau and the community the seniors on the men's team made during their careers.
