ABILENE, Texas -- The eight-match unbeaten streak for the LeTourneau men's soccer team came to a halt on Thursday night with a 2-0 loss at McMurry in conference play.
LeTourneau (4-3-4, 0-1-2 ASC) had not lost a match since Sept. 3 and the YellowJackets went 4-0-4 in that stretch.
After a scoreless first half, McMurry (3-5-2, 1-1 ASC) scored twice in the final 45 minutes to earn the win.
Landon Evans put away a close range attempt in the 60th minute to give the host War Hawks a 1-0 lead. In the 70th minute, McMurry tacked on an additional goal when Armando Saldana scored from inside the box off a ricochet from a save by
Raul Torrez on Saldana's initial attempt.
Torrez made four saves on the night and
Kolton Johnson collected one.
LeTourneau put two shots on frame in the final 15 minutes, but the chances from
Emad Mohamed and
Jordan Beltran were both handled by McMurry keeper Griffin Gardwell. Cardwell ended up with four saves on the night.
McMurry held a 15-7 advantage in shots, despite LeTourneau holding a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
Nahum Serrano had three attempts for the YellowJackets.

LeTourneau stays in Abilene on Saturday to face Hardin-Simmons (7:30 p.m.).
