Men's Soccer Loses Close Match on the Road

ABILENE, Texas -- LeTourneau runs out of time to find an equalizer losing 1-0 against Hardin Simmons. LeTourneau is now sitting at 4-4-4 and 0-2-2 in conference play while Hardin Simmons improves to 4-4-3 with an undefeated 3-0 conference record.

The YellowJackets held strong defensively in the first half while Hardin Simmons took 13 shots only two of them were put on target. while LeTourneau was able to put one shot on goal the game went scoreless into halftime.

The go-ahead goal came for the Cowboys in the 73rd minute off the foot of Jack Sissen and was assisted by his brother J.J. Sissen. That is Jack's second goal for the year and J.J.'s third assist.

The YellowJackets did not have any interest in giving up as they were able to push the ball into the attacking third multiple times in the remaining 17 minutes with a few dangerous looks including a promising throw-in from Syed Zain that went across the penalty area. However, the Jackets were unable to find the back of the net despite their five second-half shots.

Hardin Simmons was favored on the stat-sheet out shooting the YellowJackets 24-7 and they put six shots on goal as compared to the YellowJackets' one.

Kolton Johnson was in the net for LeTourneau for all 90 minutes and was able to record five saves. Carson Null was in for the full match for the Cowboys at goalie and was able to record one save.
