LONGVIEW, Texas -- Mary Hardin-Baylor shot out to a quick lead, and LeTourneau could not close the deficit in their loss on Thursday night.
Mary Hardin-Baylor (5-0, 2-0) played a team game with 13 people scoring points in their win over LeTourneau (3-6, 0-3). The YellowJackets saw
Ty Moon and
Johnai Wimbleduff score double-digit points.
The Cru found the scoreboard first from the free-throw line when Arieona Rossborough went 2-for-2 from the line. They continued their scoring run with a fastbreak layup from Kenna Gibson. The Cru continued to expand the lead with the likes of a Gibson 3-pointer and a Rosborough jumper.Â
Bailey Broughton scored first for the YellowJackets with a made free-throw, and the Cru led  17-1 with 2:29 left in the first quarter. Â
The Cru took a 35-11 lead into the half, as a team tallying 10 steals from the first half. The Jackets found eight points from the paint with the other three coming from the charity stripe.Â
Mary Hardin-Baylor controlled most of the second half until LeTourneau started to work at the deficit outscoring the Cru in the 4th quarter 15-10, unfortunately, this was not enough as the Jackets fell.
Wimbleduff put up 10 points and was a rebound short of another double-double with nine boards. Moon put up 14 points and five boards.
Haylee Jordan was able to grab six rebounds while
AJ Thomas marked a pair of assists to go along with her two points.
