LONGVIEW, Texas – Senior guard Keauna Whitfield surpassed the 1,600-point mark in her career in LETU's 76-69, victory over Concordia at Solheim Arena Sunday.

The YellowJackets improved to 10-6 overall, including 7-4 in American Southwest Conference play, while the Tornadoes fell to 7-13, 5-10.

Despite leading more than 39 minutes, LETU had to hold a late rally to earn the season sweep and third straight win in the series.

Knocking down 19 of 34 (56%) from the floor, including 7 of 13 (54%) from three-point range in the first half, the YellowJackets built a 46-32 halftime advantage. They finished with season best in both categories, converting 25 of their 53 attempts, with 9 of 19 from distance.

Trailing by 16 at the 4:56 mark of the third quarter, Concordia rallied to within three at 65-62, with 2:04 remaining in regulation. LETU salted away the victory at the charity stripe. The YellowJackets tallied 11 of the final 18 points, draining 11 of 12 at free-throw line, including eight straight.

Whitfield recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, adding three assists. Kiara McElroy posted a career-high 18 points, sinking 6 of 8 from the field, including 3 of 4 from long range. She nailed all three free-throws and secured four boards.
 
Malacia Guy tallied 19 points, six assists and chased down four missed attempts. Allaira Jones netted 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, blocked two shots and handed out a pair of assists.
 
The YellowJackets hose No. 15 UMHB at 4 p.m. Monday.
