JACKSON, Miss. -- Two goals in the first half and two more in the second half helped the LeTourneau men's soccer team get into the win column as the YellowJackets posted a shutout with a 4-0 win at Millsaps on Saturday night.
The win was the first of the year for LeTourneau (1-2-1) and the first for first-year head coach
Brady Van Holland at LETU.
The YellowJackets struck in the 31st minute when
Diego Enriquez scored his first goal of the year to put LeTourneau ahead 1-0. In the 41st minute,
Garrett Thom found the back of the net, assisted by
Sebastian Martinez, as the YellowJackets took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Even with the comfortable margin, LeTourneau kept the attack strong and scored twice more in the second half. In the 80th minute,
Blaine Wright made it a 3-0 score with his first goal of the season, assisted by
Chino Rojas, before
Russell Gray notched his second goal of the year in the 85th minute for the final tally.
LeTourneau held a 16-4 advantage in total shots, including 10-1 in the second half alone.
Kolton Johnson made two saves in the net for LeTourneau as he picked up his first shutout of the year.
Millsaps (0-3-1) keeper Michael Hamauei made four stops in the loss for the host Majors.

LeTourneau returns home on Friday to face Texas College in a Blue Out at the Joyce Family Athletic Village. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
