LETU Men's Soccer Downs MUW, 1-0

LONGVIEW, Texas -- Another match. Another clean sheet for the LeTourneau men's soccer team.

Russell Gray scored in the first half and LeTourneau ran its unbeaten streak to six in a 1-0 blanking of visiting Mississippi University for Women on a hot Sunday afternoon on the pitch at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.

It was the fifth shutout over the last six matches as LeTourneau (4-2-2) is 4-0-2 during the stretch.

Similar to Friday night's win over Schreiner, the YellowJackets struck in the first half and made that goal stand up the rest of the way.

Gray notched his team-leading third goal of the year when he gave LeTourneau a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute. Diego Enriquez played a long ball down the middle of the field and Gray tracked down the ball and slid his shot past MUW keeper David McCutchen for the score.

The assist was Enriquez's first of the year.

Kolton Johnson collected the shutout at the net for the YellowJackets as he made two saves in 90 minutes. Continued strong back line play from Bridger Roberdeau, Keaton Johnson, Juan Angel Morales, and Karson Johnson limited the chances the for MUW throughout.

LeTourneau currently leads the ASC in fewest goals allowed and lowest goals against average.

The YellowJackets held an 18-10 advantage in shots as Garrett Thom and Emad Mohamed each took three chances. MUW keepers McCutchen and Jacob Vickers combined for three saves.
