AUSTIN, Texas --
AJ Thomas had a season-high 24 points, but the LeTourneau women's basketball team could not overcome Concordia Texas in an 81-67 loss on Thursday night in ASC play.
Thomas had a game-high 24 points, her season-best, on 9-of-13 shooting to go with four rebounds and four assists.
Bailey Broughton continued her strong play of late with 16 points while
Ty Moon had 14 points for LeTourneau (6-13, 2-10 ASC).
Concordia (8-9, 5-6) used a barrage of 3-pointers to overcome begin held to 33.8 percent (26-of-77) shooting from the field. The Tornados hit 14 triples as a team, led by Mackenzie Berger's six as she totaled 20 points.Â
Six of those 3-pointers for Concordia came in the first period as the Tornados built a 27-17 lead. LeTourneau shot 42.2 percent from the floor in the period and made both 3-point attempts to stay within striking distance. Concordia extended the lead to 43-30 at halftime.
LeTourneau got within 11 at one point in the fourth quarter, but would not get any closer the rest of the way.
Haylee Jordan added eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the loss. LeTourneau shot 40 percent (26-of-65) for the game and 12-of-15 from the foul line.
Five Concordia players tallied double-digit points, led by Berger's 20. The Tornados went 14-of-37 from deep and made 15-of-17 at the line.
