Women's Hoops Falls at No. 22/23 UMHB

BELTON, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's basketball team could not overcome a strong first half from nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor in an 89-45 loss on Saturday afternoon inside the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.

Bailey Broughton had 13 points, four rebounds, and two assists to lead LeTourneau (6-14, 2-11 ASC). Broughton has scored in double-figures in six of the last seven games. Kyndall Hardeman scored all 10 of her points in the second half, while Kylie Weeks added eight points.

Mary Hardin-Baylor, ranked No. 22 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and No. 23 in the WBCA poll, got out to a 29-9 lead after one quarter and led 54-15 at the half. The Cru used a 16-0 run to end the first quarter and the lead stayed in double-digits the rest of the way.

LeTourneau had its best quarter in the third. The YellowJackets shot 60 percent from the field (6-10) and tallied 19 points, but the margin was too large to chip away.

Haylee Jordan added a pair of blocks to go with four points and six rebounds. Alyssa Hall had a team-high seven boards.

Mary Hardin-Baylor was held to just 33.3 percent (26-of-78) from the field, but lived at the foul line as the Cru connected on 30-of-47 from the stripe. Arieona Rosborough led the Cru with her 15 points and Ashley Faux tallied 12 in the win.

LeTourneau made 15-of-22 from the foul line, led by Broughton's 8-of-12 effort.
