Late Goal Puts Men's Soccer Over Ozarks

LONGVIEW -- Beau Weber scored a go-ahead goal in the 89th minute to secure a 1-0 LeTourneau men's soccer win over Ozarks on Thursday night.

In the 86th minute, some excitement ensued as Brock Bernard picked up his second yellow to give LeTourneau (5-4-4, 1-2-3 ASC) the one-man advantage over Ozarks (5-8, 1-4 ASC).

The YellowJackets took the opportunity and capitalized.

Caleb Bransford played a ball back toward the far side to Emad Muhammed who sent the ball across the field to Beau Weber. Weber then took a cut with his right foot which left the defender behind, opening a shot lane for Weber's left boot to strike the ball and curl it into the nearside of the net with 1:49 left on the clock.

The go-ahead goal marks Weber's first since his freshman season. His last goal also came against Ozarks in the final game of the season.

Weber played just seven minutes which was all that was needed to put the YellowJackets ahead.

The YellowJackets outshot the Eagles 11-7 with 5-3 on frame.

Raul Torrez marked his second straight shutout of the season, marking three saves and brought his total up to five, passing his 2022 total of four.
