LONGVIEW, Texas-- LeTourneau men's soccer ended with a scoreless draw against Hardin-Simmons at home on Thursday night.
In the 79th minute, LeTourneau (4-4-2, 0-2-1 ASC)fended off a final shot on frame from Hardin-Simmons as Raul Torrez made a diving save to his left to keep the match knotted at 0-0.
The YellowJackets had a promising opportunity at the midpoint of the second period when a Caleb Nelson shot was hit through the defender and landed inside the six-yard box. Bridger Roberdeau then put a header back to the other side of the net but a team save was had for the Cowboys to keep the ball from crossing the line.
This first period was full of chances on both sides of the field but the match remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes.
Nate Bransford had the lone shot on frame in the first period for the YellowJackets. He put a shot to the lower corner before it was saved by Carson Null.Â
Hardin-Simmons outshot LeTourneau 16-6, 6-2 on frame.
Torrez was in net for all 90 minutes and etched six saves. Carson Null was across the field in goal for Hardin-Simmons and marked one save.
