Men's Soccer Scores Two in Draw

LONGVIEW, Texas-- The LeTourneau men's soccer team conceded a late goal to McMurry to result in a 2-2 tie at home on Saturday night.

LeTourneau (4-5-3, 0-2-2 ASC) scored an early goal in the eighth minute. A shot from Emad Mohamed was saved and deflected right to the feet of Caleb Nelson who put it through the legs of the WarHawk goalie Griffin Cardwell for a goal. Nelson's fifth goal of the season.

McMurry (2-5-3, 1-1-1 ASC) then had a couple of chances but did not find the scoreboard in the first half.

The WarHawks outshot the YellowJackets 9-4 in the first period but LeTourneau had more on frame with a 2-1 advantage.

McMurry found an equalizer from a set piece chance from well beyond the 18-yard box. Armando Saldana found a pocket in the net to bring the score even in the 63rd minute.

The YellowJackets did not waste much time as 25 seconds after the kick-off Pangni found the back of the net with an assist from Bridger Roberdeau.

In the 88th minute of the match, a LeTourneau corner kick gave a promising look but Pangni's shot was blocked. Ethan Carillo gathered the rebound and put another shot toward the net but it was just high.

The WarHawks then rushed the ball down the field where Arik Phillips won the ball off a long pass from Dylan Caudle. Phillips was able to sneak one past Raul Torrez to tie the match up with 90 seconds left.

Torrez and Cardwell had an identical stat line with two saves and 90 minutes in goal.
