Triple-Double From Jordan Not Enough as Women's Hoops Falls at ABU

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Haylee Jordan recorded a triple-double and broke a program record for blocks in a game, but the LeTourneau women's basketball team fell to Arlington Baptist, 74-65, on Friday night.

Jordan totaled 20 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the loss. She broke a program single-game record -- and was one shy of tying the ASC single-game record -- with her 10 blocks and tied a career-high with 19 rebounds. Jordan has tallied three straight double-doubles in the process.

Jordan's triple-double is the first in the program's NCAA era (since 1998-99).

Ganae Gaines added 13 points and Kylie Weeks scored 10 with four assists for LeTourneau (2-2).

LeTourneau trailed for the majority of the contest, but stuck with Arlington Baptist and had a chance in the fourth quarter. The YellowJackets trailed 55-44 with three minutes left in the third quarter, but trimmed the deficit to 60-59 after a conventional three-point play from Mariana Espinosa with 5:38 left in the fourth.

Arlington Baptist (2-3) used an 8-0 run to pull away again and LeTourneau would not be able to mount another comeback in the final minutes.

Espinosa added nine points and five rebounds, while LaTerra Satcher had seven rebounds and Sara Savage pulled down six.

LeTourneau made 21-of-25 from the free throw line and connected on 37.3 percent (22-of-59) from the field. The YellowJackets held a 54-36 rebounding margin and had 23 second-chance points.

Arlington Baptist got 16 points, seven rebounds, and eight steals from SiaJoney Burley. The Patriots had 30 points off LeTourneau turnovers and shot 38.2 percent (29-of-76) for the game.
