SAN MARCOS, Texas --
Branson Lynn scored 22 points and the LeTourneau men's basketball team shot the ball well in a 110-68 exhibition loss to Division I foe Texas State on Monday night in San Marcos.
LeTourneau made nine 3-pointers and shot over 41 percent for the game. Lynn led the way with 22 points to go with two rebounds and an assist.
Walker Blaine added 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists while
Deonte Jackson scored 15 points.
Caedmon Liebengood chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
The game was the second exhibition for LeTourneau against a Division I opponent this season.
The YellowJackets started hot as Blaine hit two 3-pointers, including one that gave LeTourneau a 13-11 lead with 16:02 left in the first half. An 8-0 run by Texas State gave the host Bobcats a 19-13 lead and they would not trail again the rest of the way.
Still, LeTourneau put up a strong fight. A Jackson jumper cut the margin to five (24-19) later in the half before Texas State went on a surge to stretch the lead to double figures and the hosts led 53-30 at the half.
LeTourneau connected on 41.2 percent (28-of-68) for the game with nine 3-pointers.Â
Texas State (6-5) was led by 21 points from Brandon Love while Jordan Mason had 18 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. The Bobcats shot 66.7 percent (46-of-69) for the game with 10 3-pointers.Â
