AUSTIN, Texas --
Deonte Jackson's two made free throws with 2.1 seconds left capped a late comeback and gave the LeTourneau men's basketball team a 93-92 victory at Concordia Texas in ASC action on Saturday.
LeTourneau (5-4, 2-2 ASC) rallied from a nine-point deficit with five-plus minutes left and Jackson's free throws capped a wild sequence that saw the YellowJackets take their only lead of the second half.
Jackson finished with 26 points with six assists and he went 9-of-10 from the free throw line.Â
LeTourneau trailed the entire second half and was down 83-74 with 5:44 remaining. The YellowJackets got within 88-85 after a Jackson 3-pointer and two free throws from
Walker Blaine with 4:36 to go. Concordia stretched the lead back to five with just under two minutes left, but LeTourneau had another burst.
Christian Adams hit back-to-back 3-pointers as LeTourneau trimmed the margin to just one (92-91) with 57 seconds left. The YellowJackets then withstood two opportunities from Concordia that would have extended the lead back, but the Tornados missed a pair of jumpers before Blaine corralled the rebound with under 10 seconds remaining.
Blaine quickly got the ball to Jackson who drove the lane and was fouled in the act with 2.1 seconds left. The senior calmly knocked down both free throws to give LeTourneau a 93-92 lead.
On the ensuing inbounds play, Blaine stole the pass to seal the win.
