LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau men's soccer scored a couple in a win over Millsaps at home on Saturday.
LeTourneau (2-2) found the scoreboard early in the match as
Beau Weber played a cross 30 yards into the penalty area where
Emad Mohamed made a great touch to find the back of the netting.
Â
The YellowJackets kept up the momentum as they put 12 shots up in the first half and won three corner kicks in a row. The Jacket defense did great work to keep Millsaps (0-2-2) from even getting a shot off before going to the locker room where LeTourneau led 1-0.
In the second half, the Majors found a little shot of energy when Jacks Dowdy put a shot on frame, but
Raul Torrez made the save.
In the closing minute of the match,
Caleb Nelson found himself a look inside the 18-yard box but was taken down and awarded a penalty kick. Nelson took the opportunity and found the net to extend the lead and cement the win.
Torrez had all 90 minutes for LeTourneau and notched two saves. Michael Hamauei was across the way in net for Millsaps who also worked all 90 minutes and marked six saves.
