LONGVIEW, Texas --
Haylee Jordan recorded her 12th double-double of the year and
Bailey Broughton added 13 points, but the LeTourneau women's basketball team could not overcome visiting Concordia Texas in a 53-46 loss on Thursday night in ASC action inside Solheim Arena.
Jordan totaled 12 points and 16 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season, while adding two more blocks to her program season record, in the loss for LeTourneau (5-14, 2-9 ASC). Broughton scored in double-figures for the sixth straight game as she led the YellowJackets with 13 points.
Ganae Gaines contributed 11 points and four rebounds.
Both teams struggled from the field, but Concordia took advantage of opportunities in the fourth quarter to pull away for the road win. The visiting Tornados connected on just 28.1 percent (18-of-64) from the field and were 1-of-16 from 3-point land, but went 16-of-24 at the line. LeTourneau made 23.2 percent (13-of-56) overall, but went 19-of-23 at the foul line.
LeTourneau trailed 25-20 at the half before getting within 39-36 at the end of the third quarter after a Broughton layup in the final seconds.
Jordan scored the first six points for the YellowJackets in the fourth and her jumper with 3:42 left brought LeTourneau within 44-42. Back-to-back baskets from the Tornados extended the lead back to six and LeTourneau would not get within one-possession again the rest of the way.
LeTourneau held a 53-38 rebounding edge, including 23 offensive rebounds that led to 12 second-chance points.
Allie Buchanan had eight rebounds and
Kylie Weeks added five to the YellowJacket total.
Concordia (4-13, 3-8 ASC) got 14 points and eight rebounds from Zakari Perry, while Daysha Tijerina added 10 points.
