ABILENE, Texas -- LeTourneau men's soccer was tripped up by Hardin-Simmons on Saturday evening, 3-1.

LeTourneau moves to 4-5-5 (1-2-3 ASC), while Hardin-Simmons improves to 9-3-2 (5-1-0 ASC).

The first half saw two early shots on goal from the Cowboys, with one of them being converted in the 15th minute by Jakob Fiol. 

Joshua Van Wagener fired the first shot on goal for LeTourneau later in the half, but Reid Applewhite was just able to make the save.

Hardin-Simmons added a second goal in the 33rd minute, and the 2-0 score would hold for the remaining portion of the half.

Garrett Thom was the first to make some noise in the second half, taking his chance on goal, but again, Applewhite was there. Finally, in the 68th minute, Syed Zain, who received a beautiful pass from Bridger Roberdeau, converted an open look on the left side of the net to make the score 2-1 and get LeTourneau back in it.

Unfortunately, a foul inside the box in the waning moments by the YellowJackets gave the Cowboys their third goal on a Jack Sissen penalty kick in the 82nd minute, and that score remained until the final whistle.

Edson Camara Martinez collected five saves in total, and Kristian Princ, Bridger Roberdeau, and Emad Mohamed played all 90 minutes of the match for LeTourneau.
