GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team started the season off with a difficult match against No. 11 Calvin, and came up short losing 4-0 on Friday evening at Zuidema Field.

Edson Camara Martinez made his first career start in the season opener and tallied seven saves in the season opener.
After conceding a goal in just the second minute of the match YellowJackets settled down. Launching a counter attack with shots by
Chino Rojas, and
Caleb Nelson. Forcing Calvin goalkeeper to make a pair of early saves.
LeTourneau (0-1) was able to keep it within a score for the majority of the first half, but Calvin (1-0) extended its lead to 2-0 on a goal from Jacob Goodling in the 33rd minute to make it 2-0.
Despite the final score, the YellowJackets kept it close for the majority of the match. The score remained as it was to close the first half up until 82nd minute, when Calvin notched its third score. The Knights wasted no time in scoring again as they would add their fourth and final goal on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
Camara Martinez emerged from training camp as the winner of the position battle. Camara Martinez put together a solid performance in his first time in net for the Jackets recording seven saves.
