LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team opened conference play at home on Saturday evening in the Joyce Family Athletic Village. Despite posting 10 shots in the match the YellowJackets fall to the visiting Cowboys.
Hardin-Simmons (5-2-1, 1-0-0) jumped out to an early lead, with James Webb scoring the lone first half goal in the 7th minute. The score would remain dead locked at 1-0 for the entirety of the first half. LeTourneau (3-3-2, 0-1-0) keeper
Edson Camara Martinez posted three saves in first half to help his team keep the deficit at one.
Despite posting a pair of second half Camara Martinez, and the YellowJacket defense were unable to keep the deficit to just one in the second half. As Hardin-Simmons scored three second half goals. Each goal came from a different Cowboy with Jack Sissen, J.J Sissen, and Liam Cisneros all tallying a goal.
The YellowJackets posted 10 shots in the match placing three on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
Garrett Thom,
Jordan Beltran, and
Nate Bransford each notched a shot on goal.
Camara Martinez gathered five saves for LeTourneau, and Carson Null secured three saves in his shut out performance for Hardin-Simmons.
