Offensive Masterpiece Propels Men's Soccer to First Conference Win

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer put together an offensive masterpiece to secure their first conference win on Saturday evening inside the Joyce Family Athletic Village.

LeTourneau wasted no time jumping out to an early lead with a goal off the foot of Garrett Thom in just the 10th minute of the match. Thom was able to catch the Howard Payne keeper out of position, as a shot from Syed Zain would bounce off the hands of the keeper, creating a prime scoring opportunity for Thom, who did not disappoint.

The first half excitement continued for LeTourneau as the Bransford brothers would combine for the next two goals. Nate Bransford assisted on the first of the Bransford brother goals, launching an excellent cross into the box which set up Caleb Bransford to score his second career goal, and his first of the season. Extending the YellowJackets lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

The dynamic duo would continue as Nate Bransford would give LeTourneau a 3-0 with just seconds remaining in the opening half, scoring his second goal in both his career and on the season. Bransford was assisted by who else but his little brother. Who was able to thread a precise one touch pass through the defense, gathering his second career assist, and his first this season.

Bridger Roberdeau would cap off the offensive masterpiece for LeTourneau as he was the fourth YellowJacket to find the back of the net. Roberdeau was able to score thanks to a crisp outlet pass from Nate Bransford that set up Roberdeau superbly to beat the keeper and score in the 68th minute, notching the goal second of his career, and his first of the year. Bransford ended the match with a pair of assists, which were the first and second of his career.

Edson Camara Martinez and Carson Gamble notch a combined shut out for LeTourneau, with Camara Maritnez gathering three saves making the start in goal. Gamble appeared in relief holding down the fort for the final 20 minutes.
