RICHARDSON, Texas -- LeTourneau women's hoops came up short against UT Dallas in Richardson, 74-30, on Thursday evening at the UTD Activity Center.
Mariana Espinosa paced the team in scoring with 10 points, while
LaTerra Satcher and
Sallie Moser had five boards apiece.
Brooklyn Iman added a team-best three assists as well.
The YellowJackets started the first quarter strongly, getting an Espinosa layup and a
Kylie Weeks triple to go up by three. After a big Comets run to close out the quarter,
Makenzie Covey hit a jumper to pull LeTourneau within eight.
During another big second quarter for the Comets, Weeks was able to add a pair of free throws to pull the YellowJackets back to within eight again, but UT Dallas scored 16 consecutive points to go up 37-13 at half.
Espinosa scored four more points in the third quarter, with Satcher, Iman, Covey, and
Future Asevedo contributing some scoring of their own as well to try and keep pace with the excellent Comets squad.
Unfortunately, it was all UT Dallas in the fourth quarter, although Moser scored five in the period off the bench to help LeTourneau in the scoring department.
The Comets were led by Anna Yellen's 16 points, while Addy Self had seven rebounds and Alex Bowman added five assists.
