Men's Soccer Blanks Dallas, 6-0, on Senior Night

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team exploded for five second-half goals to take down Dallas, 6-0, on Senior Night at the Joyce Family Athletic Village on Friday.

LeTourneau (4-4-5, 3-2-2 SCAC) has won two straight matches. It was the most goals scored by LeTourneau in a match since Oct. 24, 2019.

Before the match, the YellowJackets honored their seven seniors -- Nate Bransford, Juan Angel Morales, Esteban Rodriguez, Octavio Jacquez, Nathan Peterson, Tyler Burks, and Diego Enriquez -- for the contributions to the program during their careers.

When the match started, it was a senior that put the YellowJackets ahead for good.

Nate Bransford put away a cross from Caleb Nelson in the seventh minute to give LeTourneau a 1-0 lead. The goal was the first this season for Bransford and the third of his career.

Despite a 12-3 shot advantage in the first half, LeTourneau only a one-goal edge into halftime.

That all changed in the second half.

Nelson scored in the opening minute of the second half and started an onslaught of goals for the YellowJackets. The junior got a free kick pass from Leandro Ferreira and scored from the left side of the box for his second goal of the year.

Elias Arreguin tacked on his first goal of the year in the 53rd minute as he scored from close range after a long throw-in from Joshua Van Wagener to make it 3-0.

Nelson then added his second assist of the night as he aided in Henry Shore's goal in the 58th minute. Nelson played the ball to the left side then slid a pass into the box and Shore back-footed the ball into the net for his team-leading seventh goal of the year.

Not to be outdone, Jeffrey Boedeker tallied his first two collegiate goals late in the match. Boedeker collected his first in the 72nd minute -- assisted by Sammy Shmorgun -- and added another in the 76th minute from Graysen Crawford for the final tally.

LeTourneau ended the night with a 26-5 shot advantage, including 13-1 in shots on goal. Jacquez made one save as he earned his second shutout of the year.

Dallas (0-12-1, 0-7-0 SCAC) Malachi Varghese made seven saves in the loss.
