CONWAY, Ark. -- LeTourneau volleyball was unable to pick up a road victory against the Hendrix Warriors, falling 3-1 (25-12, 17-25, 25-16, 25-17) on Friday evening.
Noral Lockhart was the kill leader for the YellowJackets (13-8, 5-4 SCAC), logging seven with a .500 hitting percentage.Â
Emily Mullin,
Emma Smith, and
Aubree McCann all followed with six kills each, while Mullin added 13 assists and three blocks.
Ashlyn Walther had five rejections in the match, while
Hailee Perry led the team with 14 assists.
Maddy Hirneise fronted the YellowJackets with 20 digs.
LeTourneau struggled early out of the gate. Hendrix (14-3, 8-1 SCAC) poured on runs early and often, as the Warriors put together multiple four-plus point runs in the first set.
The second set told a different story, though, as all the gears were turning for the YellowJackets.Â
With each Hendrix point, LeTourneau would answer with two or three of their own.
The Jackets would go on to take the set 25-17, capped off by a swing by Lockhart.
LeTourneau would fight early in the decisive third set, holding the Warrior lead to a slim 8-6 margin.Â
Despite this, the Warriors would answer with an 11-3 run, which was enough to run away with the set and eventually the match.
Hendrix would be led statistically by Ana Bostos with 11 kills and nine digs.
