CLARKSVILLE, Ark.-- LeTourneau volleyball completed the season sweep of the Ozarks Eagles Saturday afternoon in Mabee Gymnasium. The YellowJackets swept the Eagles 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-22) to move to 14-8 on the year, and 6-4 in SCAC competition.
LeTourneau had a 3-set match season-high 50 kills (.276) on the day, setting a 25-point era program record.
Emma Smith displayed her sixth double-digit kill performance of her senior campaign, dropping 13 kills with an efficient .550 hitting percentage.
Aubree McCann followed suit with 12 kills (.308) of her own, while
Nora Lockhart had eight kills (.389) with seven blocks.
Kaylyn Taylor tallied her sixth straight double-digit dig outing with 14, along with four service aces.
Emily Mullin led the match with 24 assists, while
Elyse McKinney had a match-high 22 digs.
The opening set was competitive early, but after a 10-10 knot, the YellowJackets put together five straight to break open a lead.
LeTourneau would not allow back-to-back points for the remainder of the set and cap things off with an emphatic kill from Smith.
The second set was all Jackets, as LeTourneau opened up with an 18-4 stretch, including two five-point runs.
The Eagles (4-12, 2-8 SCAC) would not go down without a fight, though, as Ozarks held an early 10-8 lead.
However, the YellowJackets stole 11 of the next 13 points to create an insurmountable lead. The final point came thanks to a Lockhart slam.
Brooke Humphrey headlined the Eagles with eight kills and 11 digs.
