HOUSTON, Texas -- LeTourneau women's basketball fell 100-37 in an exhibition on the road against Division I Houston Christian, inside Sharp Gymnasium, Tuesday evening.
Mariana Espinosa led the YellowJackets with 10 points, including a pair of threes, and five rebounds.Â
Robbi Martinez recorded eight points, with a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point land.
Kylie Weeks followed with seven points, three boards, and three assists, while
Makenzie Covey produced six points and a pair of steals.
LeTourneau held its own in the first quarter, with Houston Christian only leading 28-16 after the first.
The YellowJackets found its first points via an Espinosa jumper, immediately followed by a Covey steal and score.
By the second quarter, LeTourneau played well defensively, holding the Huskies (1-3) to just eight points through the first 5:18 of the quarter.
Eventually, though, Houston Christian's size and speed would just be too much for LeTourneau to handle, leading 51-25 at the half, and running away with the rest of the game.
The Huskies were led by Grace Booth, with 18 points and eight rebounds.
