Women's Golf Places Program-Record Four on All-ASC Teams

DALLAS --  A program-record four LeTourneau women's golfers were named to All-ASC teams, as the conference announced its season awards on Sunday.

Isabella Ferreira earned All-ASC second team honors while Hannah Newell, Macy Rutland, and Emerson Swanner collected honorable mention accolades.

All awards are voted on by head coaches.

Ferreira, a junior from Plano, Texas, earns her second straight All-ASC second team recognition. The junior finished 13th at the ASC Championship Tournament with a 238 (77-83-78). On the year, Ferreira led the team in scoring average at 79.71 and posted four top-10 finishes. The scoring average is second in program history for a season and Ferreira's career mark of 80.35 continues to be a program record.

Ferreira was tied for third at the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate and had three top-10 finishes in the spring season.

A junior from Houston, Texas, Newell garners her third career All-ASC selection. Newell was second on the team in scoring average at 80.88 across 16 rounds. The junior tied for first at the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate and had four top-10 finishes on the year. She placed 23rd overall at the ASC Championship Tournament. 

In her three seasons, Newell has a scoring average of 81.09, which ranks second all-time.

Rutland, a senior from Gladewater, Texas, collects her second career All-ASC nod. The senior posted a career-best scoring average of 81.38 in 13 rounds played on the year. Rutland had a pair of top-10 finishes, with her best coming at the Jacksonville College Invitational where she placed in a tie for sixth. Rutland was the top finisher for LeTourneau at the ASC Championship Tournament as she placed 11th with a 235 (76-79-80), which included a season-best 76 in round one.

In her three years as a YellowJacket, Rutland compiled an 82.33 scoring average which ranks third in program history.

Swanner, a freshman from Spring, Texas, earns her first career All-ASC selection. The freshman played in all nine tournaments and finished the year with an 82.68 scoring average across 19 rounds. Swanner earned ASC Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 9 after placing 10th at the Alamo City Classic. She had a pair of top-10 finishes, including placing eighth with a 168 (89-79) at the FST Pinecrest Invitational. 

Swanner had a season-best round of 76 in round one of the Space City Classic. She finished 14th at the ASC Championship Tournament with a 241 (82-77-82).

LeTourneau, under head coach J. Paul Leslie III, finished fourth at the ASC Championship Tournament -- marking a third straight top-five finish at the conference tournament. The YellowJackets set a program record for scoring average with a 328.53.
