MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team fell to Berry in a 1-0 heart breaker, on Friday night at Bob Pearson Field.
Both defenses fought valiantly keeping the offenses off the board until the 86th minute. Jack Raulston headed in the game winning goal for the Vikings on a corner kick feed from Addofo El Bey.Â
The best scoring opportunity came as the first half was winding down, when
Bridge Mwambukiri beat his man to generate a breakaway and fire a shot off of his right foot that was turned away by the keeper Cooper Cherry.
Henry Shore logged all 90 minutes and generated the Jackets second best scoring chance. Shore generated this chance early in the match after drawing a foul just outside the box, his free kick led to the first of two saves by Cherry.Â
Kristian Princ,
Sammy Shmorgun, and
Joshua Van Wagener all posted strong performances on the back line limiting the Vikings offense to just eight total shots and two shots on goal.Â
Edson Camara Martinez logged a single save and prevented several other scoring chances by punching away balls played into the box.Â
