LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer battled Concordia Texas for a 1-1 draw to open SCAC play on Friday night at the Joyce Family Athletic Village. 

LeTourneau came out of the gate with an aggressive approach, attacking Concordia with a high press. This aggressive approach resulted in steadfast offensive pressure for the YellowJackets. Before reaching the 10 minute mark LeTourneau had already fired two shots on frame. 

Karsten Guerra generated the first scoring opportunity for LeTourneau putting a shot on frame in the 2nd minute. Diego Enriquez created the second scoring chance notching a shot on goal in the 8th minute. 

Marcos Gonzalez checked into the match in the 26th and made an immediate impact forcing Leonnel Cuellar to make a diving save in the 27th minute. 

After creating persistent pressure throughout the majority of the first half, Leandro Ferreira finally broke through for the YellowJackets in the 36th minute. 

LeTourneau did an excellent job of capitalizing on a Concordia mistake. Juan Angel Morales fired a beautiful ball into the box, which was punched away by Cuellar directly into the feet of Patrick Bauer. Bauer quickly took advantage of the misplay feeding the ball to Ferreira, who launched a missile off his right foot into the back of the net. The goal was the second of the season for Ferreira, which came on a pass that gave Bauer his second assist of the campaign.

In many ways this match was a tale of two halves as it was Concordia who was able to create consistent second half pressure. Alejandro Rojas scored in the 75th minute to tie the match on a double assist from Andres Munoz, and Thomas Saylae. 

The YellowJackets best second half chance came mere moments after Concordia tied the match, as Ferreira was fingertips away from scoring his second goal in the 78th minute. 

Cuellar collected five saves for Concordia. 

Edson Camara Martinez gathered three saves for the YellowJackets.
