LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team fell to Texas Lutheran 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
The win moves Texas Lutheran to 3-3-1 (1-0-0, SCAC) on the year, while the loss moves LeTourneau to `1-3-4 (0-1-1, SCAC) on the campaign.
After scoring an early goal Texas Lutheran remained in control. Evan Pacheco scored in the 27th minute with an assist from Jesus Carillo.
From this point forward the defenses reigned supreme. The YellowJackets defense limited the visiting Bulldogs to six shots on goal.
Edson Camara Martinez tied a season high snatching five saves.
Bridge Mwambukiri tallied the only shot on frame for the YellowJackets.
Diego Enriquez,
Jeffrey Boedeker,
Sammy Shmorgun,
Karsten Guerra, and
Caleb Nelson all fired shots.
Joshua Van Wagener and Shmorgun recorded all 90 minutes on the back line, putting in a strong defensive effort.
