LONGVIEW, Texas --
Henry Shore and
Bridge Mwambukiri scored their first collegiate goals to help the LeTourneau men's soccer team to a 2-2 draw with Millsaps on Saturday afternoon at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
The draw moves LeTourneau to 0-0-2 on the season, while Millsaps moves to 2-0-2 on the campaign.
Shore scored his goal on a pin-point shot off of his left foot to the bottom right corner of the net in the 21st minute off of a fantastic feed off the right foot of
Caleb Nelson. Nelson has two assists in as many matches.
Mwambukiri scored his goal in the 29th minute. When he realized the Majors keeper was out of position, Mwambukiri chipped it over him and into the back of the net from distance to give the YellowJackets a 2-0 lead.
Edson Camara Martinez gathered three first-half saves, leaving the Jackets with a 2-0 lead to end the first half.
Sticking with the same strategy as the season opener LeTourneau made a keeper change for the second half turning to
Carson Gamble.
After being shutout for 64 minutes the Majors came storming back with two goals off of the right foot of Myles Walden, both of which were assisted by Ellis Dykes. Walden scored his first goal in 65th minute, and his second in the 85th minute.
Gamble notched six saves in his 45 minutes of action.
Patrick Bauer,
Jeffrey Boedeker,
Jaron Wilkerson,
Karsten Guerra all notched shots.
Sammy Shmorgun fired a shot on frame.
