LONGVIEW, Texas -- Bridge Mwambukiri scored three goals and an assist to help power the LeTourneau men's soccer team to its first conference win of the season.
The YellowJackets jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning 6-1 over Hendrix (1-7-1, 0-3 SCAC) Friday night at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
LeTourneau (5-5-1, 1-1-1 SCAC) started its historic night with an early goal in just the fourth minute. Elias Arreguin crossed a long ball into the box perfectly to Mwambukiri, who knocked it in with his right foot to give the YellowJackets a 1-0 lead. Arreguin's assist was his first of the season.
Mwambukiri made it a brace in the 10th minute when Colton Chalker took a low shot that was deflected out by Hendrix keeper Cameron Joniec, leaving an open net for Mwambukiri, who scored his second goal of the match to give the YellowJackets a 2-0 lead.
Mwambukiri completed the hat-trick in the 24th minute after he found a loose ball on the right side of the box, which he netted with his right foot to give LeTourneau a 3-0 lead.
Mwambukiri's hat trick was the first by a YellowJacket since Henry Shore did it on October 12th, 2025, against St. Thomas. This was the first hat trick completed in the first half since Aaron Gentry did it in 2003 against Dallas Christian.
The YellowJackets continued the scoring in the second half. In the 59th minute, Mwambukiri added an assist to his historic night off a corner kick, which senior Kristian Princ headed in to give LeTourneau a 4-0 lead. The goal was the first of Princ's career.
Chalker found the net just 11 seconds later to break a 22-year-old program record for the fastest consecutive goals scored, previously held at 24 seconds.
In the 65th minute, Hendrix scored an own goal after Chalker sent a shot off the right post, giving LeTourneau a 6-0 lead.
In the 81st minute, Patrick Bauer was called for a handball in the box, which gave Clayton Somogyi a penalty kick goal for Hendrix, making it 6-1.
The YellowJackets managed 19 shots, with 13 on goal, while Hendrix had four shots, with three on goal.
Carson Gamble played all 90 minutes in goal for LeTourneau and made two saves. Joniec started in goal for Hendrix and made five saves.
