LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's basketball couldn't handle a second-half push from Concordia Texas on Tuesday night in Solheim Arena, falling 83-51.
Mariana Espinosa took the lead in the scoring column for the YellowJackets (5-14, 2-8 SCAC), collecting 15 points -- including three triples --Â while grabbing five rebounds and a pair of steals.
Kylie Weeks continued to be a pest on the defensive end, swiping five steals and putting up nine points on the other end of the floor.
Kaylin Cervantes added 10 points in the midweek matchup.
The Tornados (6-14, 3-7 SCAC) controlled the scoring following the opening tip, rolling off a 7-0 run through the first 2:52, eventually stretching the lead to 13-5.
LeTourneau would find its rhythm following, though, collecting a 10-4 stretch off the backs of four from Cervantes and back-to-back 3-pointers from Espinosa.
Espinosa would knock down a triple with seconds left in the first to make it 20-18 after the quarter.
However, Concordia would hold control through the final three quarters, outscoring the YellowJackets 63-33 for the remainder of the game.
The Tornados were headlined by 16 points and five rebounds from Shanna Brown, while Taysie Trejo managed 10 points and eight boards.
